Vestforbrænding operates Denmark's largest plant for incineration of waste. All waste, which is not recycled and which is suitable for this treatment option, is incinerated.
Collection trucks deliver on average the trucks deliver 1.500 to 1.600 tonnes of waste for incineration every single day.
The energy from the waste incineration is used in production of power and district heating – and thus substitutes fossil fuels elsewhere.
Waste incineration in Denmark is strictly monitored and regulated under laws, directives and orders regarding waste incineration.
